Your privacy.
Plainly explained.
No account is needed to learn or play. This notice explains what happens when you visit the site or contact us.
Who is responsible?
Birchwell Associates Ltd is the data controller for Card Game Rules. Company number: 15480791. Registered office: 37 Shadow Moss Road, Moss Nook, Wythenshawe, Manchester, United Kingdom, M22 0LQ. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email [email protected].
When you practise a game
Game hands, choices, practice chips and scores are held in the current page’s memory. We do not create player accounts, upload your game results or build a player profile. Reloading or leaving a page resets its practice session.
Optional Google Analytics runs only after consent. We do not install advertising trackers or social tracking pixels.
Hosting and technical information
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Requests necessarily include technical information such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time. Cloudflare may process technical logs and security information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our lawful basis for necessary site delivery and security processing is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website.
We do not receive a named list of people playing games. Technical information may be processed outside the UK, subject to applicable transfer safeguards. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and customer data processing addendum for details of its processing and safeguards.
When you contact us
The contact helper prepares a draft locally. It does not transmit your message to a server. If you choose to send the email, we receive your email address, your message and any details or attachments you include. Our business mailbox is provided through Microsoft. Your own email provider also processes the message under its own terms.
We use correspondence to answer questions, review corrections, resolve technical problems and handle privacy requests. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and improving the site, or compliance with a legal obligation where applicable. We do not add enquirers to a marketing list.
We retain correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to deal with the matter, follow up on a correction or meet legal obligations. Once it is no longer needed, it should be deleted. A correction may remain in a guide without identifying the person who reported it.
Sharing and security
We do not sell personal information. Our hosting and email providers process information to supply their services. We may share information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. We limit access to correspondence and use the security controls supplied by our providers. Please do not send sensitive personal information or details about children.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access your information, correct it, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests and receive portable data where that right applies. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions.
Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and changes
See our cookies notice for the current storage and tracking position. We will update this notice when relevant processing changes. Last updated: 19 October 2026.
Optional Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand page views, approximate location, device/browser information, traffic sources and selected site interactions. For example, we can measure a game or quiz being started or completed, or an enquiry being accepted for delivery. We do not send form messages, email addresses, individual quiz answers or card hands to Google Analytics. Our lawful basis for this optional measurement is consent.
Google Analytics is supplied by Google Ireland Limited, with processing by Google and its providers internationally, including in the United States. Read Google’s privacy policy, how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s data processing terms for its processing and transfer safeguards.
Analytics stays off until you accept it. You can reject it without losing access to the site, or withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops future measurement from this browser; it does not undo processing that already took place. We use the standard two-month retention setting for user-level and event-level exploration data; aggregated reports can be retained for longer. Our consent choice and analytics cookies expire after up to 180 days.
